Description
The SAP Solution Manager Basic Configuration Assistant is a new functionality available with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EhP 1. This function leads through configuration with a Guided Procedure for one of the following selectable configurations: Initial Configuration, Basic Configuration and Configuration of Managed Systems. During execution of this function the systems creates a user for the administration of the SAP Solution Manager and performs technical configuration steps like configuration of the most important SAP Solution Manager functions, applications and work centers, for example: Communication with SAP, Maintenance Optimizer or Diagnostics. The system logs the current configuration status in each basic configuration step. This session will focus on explaining the new functionality.
Additionally, SAP offers Expert Guided Implementation sessions for the Enterprise Support customers. During such an expert guided delivery, all basic configuration steps are explained as well as the customer is guided through those steps by an SAP expert. Further on, this delivery focuses on projects executed with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 SP17 and onwards.

Ewa Goslawska-Goedecke, PhD, is a member of the End to End Solution Operations RIG for the North America region. During her 7 year career at SAP she worked in CoE in Germany focusing on service delivery and service development for various SAP financial applications. In parallel, she has been involved in the global SAP Solution Manager roll out. As of then, she has joined SAP Solution Manager RIG in the US to continue the roll out activities around SAP Solution Manager. Today’s work activities include roll-in and roll-out of new services and functionalities around E2E solution operations and SAP Solution Manager including knowledge transfer to various SAP departments and most importantly SAP customers.
