Description

In today's global marketplace, you need to be able to communicate with the world to get your message out and stay competitive. If your company employs global business processes across the enterprise, or if your customers and business partners interact with your business through the World Wide Web, chances are that you will have to support multiple local-language characters. SAP NetWeaver supports both J2EE and ABAP technologies and seamless communication between J2EE and ABAP is the key for this dual architecture. Since Java is based on Unicode, communication between J2EE and ABAP without loss of data is only possible when the ABAP stack is based on Unicode as well. The session will address how to find the right information and then subsequently plan for the implementation of Unicode. Examples will be provided to support the recommendations made in this session.

3 key learning’s:

- Learn where to find the right information to determine how and when to perform a Unicode conversion
- Understand the methodologies available to minimize the impact
- Get tips on common ‘gotchas’ and avoidable technical issues in the conversion process
