Customers have invested heavily in Enterprise Resource Planning to standardize and automate business processes. IT itself also needs to follow standardized processes as they are described in industry standards such as ITIL, Prince2, or others. While customers have invested heavily in automating the business processes, the processes of IT are often not yet automated and even mature customers run on a zoo of IT tools which have been integrated only to some degree with a significant effort by customer IT. For customers that have highly standardized on the SAP Business Suite to automate their business processes, it is obvious to use that same software also to automate the IT processes.

The idea of an Enterprise Resource Planning for IT from SAP is born: why not use the SAP Business Suite already in use by the customer to run IT like a business? This session will give insights how to use SAP ERP to run IT like a business.
