This call will briefly intro­duce SAP’s approach towards enter­prise archi­tec­ture and ref­er­ence archi­tec­ture frame­work, and it will cov­er input from the recent SAP ASUG EA Summit. 

This Think Tank ses­sion will focus on get­ting input from orga­ni­za­tions on what ref­er­ence archi­tec­tures are being used to facil­i­tate Enter­prise Archi­tec­ture arti­facts, dis­cus­sions, and deci­sions. Dis­cuss as a team how SAP’s approach aligns with your organization’s archi­tec­ture frame­work decisions. 

The for­mat for Thurs­day, April 23 12 p.m. CT will include: 

• Brief wel­come and kick­off from ASUG 

• Rapid case study led by ASUG mem­ber Vedavyas Cun­theep­u­ram from Lep­ri­no Foods 

• The dis­cus­sion will focus on: 

• SAP and Open Group synergy 

• SAP rolling out indus­try ref­er­ence architecture 

• Focus­ing on busi­ness architecture 

• Shar­ing of recent wins or suc­cess­es, along with resources utilized 

Gain vis­i­bil­i­ty into the chal­lenges and suc­cess­es oth­er SAP cus­tomers are expe­ri­enc­ing, and acquire new ideas for real-world solutions. 

Insights:

• Capa­bil­i­ties, solu­tions, and process­es are inde­pen­dent from one anoth­er. Need the ​“what” first and then the ​“how” second.
• Lay­ered archi­tec­ture for an orga­ni­za­tion that has mul­tipe busi­ness­es: Exam­ple — Oil & Gas (upstream, down­stream, and mid-stream). 
  • They are map­ping out S/4 and oth­er solu­tions on how to co-exist.
• Som­times the process­es are defined by the appli­ca­tion. When you have mul­ti­ple apps in your land­scape, you have to adapt.
