This call will briefly introduce SAP's approach towards enterprise architecture and reference architecture framework, and it will cover input from the recent SAP ASUG EA Summit. 

This Think Tank session will focus on getting input from organizations on what reference architectures are being used to facilitate Enterprise Architecture artifacts, discussions, and decisions. Discuss as a team how SAP's approach aligns with your organization’s architecture framework decisions. 

The format for Thursday, April 23 12 p.m. CT will include: 

  • Brief welcome and kickoff from ASUG 

  • Rapid case study led by ASUG member Vedavyas Cuntheepuram from Leprino Foods 

  • The discussion will focus on: 

  • SAP and Open Group synergy 

  • SAP rolling out industry reference architecture 

  • Focusing on business architecture 

  • Sharing of recent wins or successes, along with resources utilized  

Gain visibility into the challenges and successes other SAP customers are experiencing, and acquire new ideas for real-world solutions. 

Insights:

  • Capabilities, solutions, and processes are independent from one another. Need the "what" first and then the "how" second.
  • Layered architecture for an organization that has multipe businesses: Example - Oil & Gas (upstream, downstream, and mid-stream). 
    • They are mapping out S/4 and other solutions on how to co-exist.
  • Somtimes the processes are defined by the application. When you have multiple apps in your landscape, you have to adapt.
