After begin­ning his new role at Loudoun Water (LW), Jeff Smith quick­ly opti­mized plan­ning and sched­ul­ing at LW by imple­ment­ing Bill of Mate­ri­als (BOM). With his change man­age­ment expe­ri­ence, Jeff iden­ti­fied key busi­ness users in need of a bet­ter way to max­i­mize their SAP sys­tems. In a short two-month peri­od, LW was able to assign BOM to over 1,000 pieces of equip­ment. Using stan­dard SAP trans­ac­tions and already-estab­lished mas­ter data gov­er­nance process­es in place at LW, staff were able to find the data they need­ed to imple­ment BOM at LW.
