As the 2027 dead­line for SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA migra­tion nears, ASUG Mem­bers in the Oil, Gas, and Ener­gy (OGE) indus­try are notably fur­ther ahead in their SAP S/4HANA adop­tion jour­ney than oth­er indus­tries. Accord­ing to new research from ASUG and Prometheus Group, 66% of OGE ASUG Mem­bers are already oper­at­ing in or start­ing their migration.

Despite most OGE ASUG Mem­bers being ahead of the curve, they are encoun­ter­ing issues they did not con­sid­er before their move, such as mas­ter data qual­i­ty and inte­gra­tion capa­bil­i­ties with­in non-SAP solu­tions. One ASUG Mem­ber in the OGE indus­try said, ​“Too many dupli­cates make it much hard­er for the user to know which ven­dor mas­ter to use. We need to devel­op a more stan­dard­ized process.”
