Non-valuated inventory consists of materials that are managed by the distributor but owned by the customer. Hence, it has no book value. A distributor may have non-valuated inventory for many customers in the same warehouse as its owned inventory. Inventory must transition smoothly from valuated to non-valuated based on customer requirements. Pick, pack, and ship become more difficult when lot billing scenarios are included.

The format for Thursday, April 23 at 2 p.m. CT will include:

  • Brief welcome and kickoff from ASUG

  • The discussion will focus on:

  • What master data is required?

  • What transactional data is required?

  • At what level of detail can non-valuated inventory be managed?

  • Customer level

  • Customer/job level

  • Customer/sales order level

  • Lot billing scenarios?

  • Can non-valuated inventory be successfully managed with SAP IM only, without WM/EWM?

  • Have distributors come up with their own alternative solutions, or adopted third-party solutions?

Gain visibility into the challenges and successes other SAP customers are experiencing, and acquire new ideas for real-world solutions.
