Join us as we discuss some of the new challenges that we are facing with the new normal such as facility cleaning, zoning of work areas, and how that affects one-over-one digital signatures and inspection processing separation.

We will also discuss SAP S/4HANA and what those who have not gone there should expect.

The format for Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m. CT and will include:

  • Brief welcome and kickoff from ASUG

  • Rapid case study led by ASUG member Sue Rochon from IDEXX

  • The discussion will focus on:

  • Quality notification process for supplier and internal material deviations

  • Quality notifications process for internal process deviations

  • Discussion on future ways SAP Quality Management will be used

Gain visibility into the challenges and successes other SAP customers are experiencing, and acquire new ideas for real-world solutions.

Think Thank Insights:

  • After 3 previous attempts with 3 other deviation reporting processes, IDEXX created three types of use cases for quality notifications which they began implementing in 2011: Quality Notifications for Supplier Deviations (Q2), Quality Notifications for Internal Material Deviation (Q3), Quality Notifications for Internal Process Deviations (own type). In today’s Think Tank, Sue Rochon goes through the 3 QM processes.

  • With previous deviation reporting processes, the hang up was the complicated approval process, where they used a 4-part approval form which employees would need to physically walk over. These Q note processes sped everything up and made everything much less complicated. If you’re the coordinator creating the task, you know who needs to approve it, so there’s now an automatic work instruction for who it should be sent to.

  • A challenge that IDEXX is now working on is that now they create too many Quality Notifications because they’re too easy to create and we’re spending too much time creating them. We’re evaluating the process currently and will soon start a project to address it and to evaluate up front whether we create a Q note, but we’ve had to push it off because of COVID-19.

  • Today’s Think Tank had a robust discussion, with many other questions about Quality Management, including inspection types and methods, workflow functions, digital signatures, and more relevant and timely topics.
