ASUG recently introduced ASUG Collective: Empowering Leaders, Elevating Careers, an initiative designed to support inclusive leadership, professional growth, and peer connection for members across the SAP community. This effort builds upon the foundation of ASUG’s former Women Connect program, expanding its reach while continuing to prioritize mentorship, skill development, and inclusive engagement.

ASUG Collective brings together virtual and in-person opportunities to help members navigate evolving workplace demands and leadership expectations. Regular Community Conversations and local gatherings are designed to foster dialogue, peer exchange, and continuous learning across industries and job roles.

Two ASUG Collective sessions are scheduled at SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference. Both sessions will explore emotional intelligence (EQ) as a leadership differentiator—highlighting the roles of empathy, communication, and cultural awareness. Participants will receive guidance from expert facilitators on identifying and strengthening their EQ to improve collaboration and drive professional success.

Insights from Early Programming

The first Community Conversation of 2025 addressed personal branding and leadership. Attendees examined practical ways to communicate professional value with clarity and consistency. The discussion centered around the importance of aligning day-to-day work with long-term goals, actively sharing accomplishments, and cultivating a clear leadership presence.

Participants also explored foundational leadership traits such as emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and decision-making under pressure. Discussions touched on more advanced leadership capabilities—such as agility, inclusive decision-making, and resilience—all critical in today’s dynamic business environment.

Career development content focused on increasing visibility and building strategic relationships. Participants were encouraged to pursue stretch opportunities, cultivate sponsorship and mentorship relationships, and connect with senior leadership to accelerate growth. Attendees also worked through workplace challenges such as shifting priorities and organizational changes within organizations. Some tactical approaches discussed included succession planning, focusing on customer outcomes, and promoting team continuity during times of transition.

The ASUG Collective is supported in 2025 by PwC. The initiative reflects a continued investment in empowering professionals to lead with intention—regardless of title, background, or industry experience.

ASUG members are invited to participate in the upcoming Collective programming and contribute to the evolution of this growing, purpose-driven community.
