Capacity Modeling for SAP HANA: Knowing when SAP HANA is Full

Hosted by: EDW SIG of the Business Intelligence community

VIEW SLIDES

In the fall of 2014, Raytheon installed SAP BW on SAP HANA. For two years, this 3.5 TB system was able to grow with the company’s data demands. Two years later, the growth projections are right on target, but today’s concern is how to know if the system is really full and what happens if it becomes overfilled. This session gives recommendations for memory sizing and ongoing operations and demonstrates Raytheon’s capacity-tracking model and what happens when SAP HANA fails due to memory issues.

Speakers:

George Holdsworth, IT Fellow, Raytheon

George has 25 years of data warehousing experience, with the last 15 years using SAP BW. As an IT Fellow, George is responsible for BI technical strategy. He was previously the BW System Architect at Raytheon and led the BW on HANA implementation.
