There are many rea­sons for opti­miz­ing your cur­rent SAP set­up. For exam­ple, the busi­ness mod­el may have changed or com­pa­nies may want to take advan­tage of new func­tion­al­i­ty such as the New Gen­er­al Ledger (New GL) or, more recent­ly S/4HANA. Also, the com­pa­ny may have sub­se­quent­ly made a num­ber of acqui­si­tions which don’t fit their orig­i­nal sys­tem design but were bolt­ed onto the orig­i­nal con­fig­u­ra­tion any­way, or the com­pa­ny may have evolved in a dif­fer­ent direc­tion and their orig­i­nal SAP blue­print is no longer appro­pri­ate in the cur­rent cli­mate.
