Check­lists are need­ed in every indus­try and in many EAM process­es, but espe­cial­ly for inspec­tions and main­te­nance. SAP Con­sult­ing and the DSAG User Group col­lect­ed the require­ments for a check­list solu­tion from many customers:

•           ​“A legal­ly bind­ing doc­u­men­ta­tion is essential”
•           ​“Many dif­fer­ent objects should be checked with­in one work order. We don’t want to han­dle 20 work orders to inspect 20 objects.”
•           ​“The result record­ing of the checks should be very simple”
•           ​“An OK / Not OK Result is not suf­fi­cient. The result could be out of a defined cat­a­log or could be a numer­ic val­ue which has to be checked against limits.”
•           ​“The check­lists are object specific.”
•           ​“The check­lists for an inspec­tion should be cre­at­ed auto­mat­i­cal­ly by the system.”
•           ​“The effort for mas­ter data main­te­nance should be very low.”
•           ​“We want to sim­u­late the check­lists for a work order.”
