Abstract:

This ses­sion will take you into our New Gen­er­a­tion Busi­ness Process for a Cir­cu­lar Econ­o­my. You will learn what solu­tions SAP is work­ing on to sup­port the tran­si­tion from a lin­ear econ­o­my into a cir­cu­lar economy.

Start­ing with improv­ing oper­a­tional and logis­tics process­es span­ning inbound, man­u­fac­tur­ing and out­bound that impacts mul­ti­ple industries.

This ses­sion will share insights on the impor­tance of tak­ing steps towards trust and trans­paren­cy (i.e. farm to fork sce­nario) and sup­port the dri­ve into a zero-waste pro­duc­tion process­es address­ing the impact to:

 

•                Increas­ing regulations 

•                Grow­ing ener­gy and resource constraints 

•                Deploy­ing smart Intel­li­gent” equipment 

•                Address­ing the lack of skilled workforce 

•                Sup­port­ing cus­tomer expectations

Speak­er Bio:

Mer­li­jn Ekkel has been deliv­er­ing Busi­nes­sOb­jects report­ing solu­tions since 1999 and joined Busi­nes­sOb­jects in 2001. After gain­ing exten­sive expe­ri­ence of the core report­ing tools and plat­form Mer­li­jn expand­ed his tech­ni­cal reach to cov­er the company’s Appli­ca­tions and ETL prod­ucts. Between 2003 and 2008 his focus has been to sup­port all par­ties in the migra­tion to the lastest ver­sions, both from lega­cy Busi­ness Objects and com­pet­i­tive products. 

Between 2008 and 2011 he joined the SAP Busi­nes­sOb­jects Com­pe­ten­cy Cen­tre, focussing in sup­port­ing Sales, Sales Con­sul­tan­cy and Field Ser­vices in posi­tion­ing the SAP Busi­nes­sOb­jects suite to our cus­tomers. In this role he has been the lead archi­tect for EMEA ser­vices in regards to Ana­lyt­ics and spe­cial­ly BI. Dur­ing this peri­od his main role was to sup­port cus­tomers, part­ners and col­leagues in enabling a suc­cess­ful BI deploy­ment. By tak­ing the overview of the require­ments he moved a derailed project back in the right track and/​or guid­ed com­plex projects to a success.

In 2011 he con­tin­ued this role on a Glob­al lev­el with­in Solu­tion Man­age­ment as the expert in BI. As the direct link between devel­op­ment and cus­tomer, he helped many cus­tomers to a suc­cess. In 2013 he move to the BI GTM team as Direc­tor BI Solu­tions and is co-dri­ving the BI direc­tion with­in SAP, BI4x Adop­tion and BI Cloud for all of SAP from the GTM Side.
