We will look at the upcoming USMCA free-trade agreements and the considerations that companies with GTS need to make. During this session we will look at any observations on the new rules of origins and where GTS might lack functionality. This is an opportunity for member companies to join together and discuss their concerns and observations on the new free-trade agreement. 

The format for Tuesday, April 14 at 12:30 p.m. CT will include: 

  • Rapid case study led by ASUG member Bob Adams from Deloitte

  • Where companies are in the process of getting ready for USMCA 

  • Differences between NAFTA and USMCA 

  • Any observation on the functionality provided in GTS for USMCA or rules of origin from content providers 

  • Sharing of recent wins or successes, along with resources utilized 

Insights:

  • New form for USMCA include requirements that certificate contain nine (9) minimum data elements
  • Companies are experiencing challenges documenting and tracking auditing practices; requires more documentation that past iterations
  • Material classification requirements vary depending on country
