We’re excit­ed to kick off the 12^th annu­al ASUG Best Prac­tices: SAP for Oil, Gas, and Ener­gy in Hous­ton and vir­tu­al­ly. Ben­jamin Beber­ness will start the day with an inspir­ing and ener­giz­ing wel­come fol­lowed by a pow­er­ful sto­ry from Shell:

Pow­er­ing Progress is Shell’s strat­e­gy to accel­er­ate the tran­si­tion of our busi­ness to net-zero emis­sions. The key to deliv­er­ing this is how we enable our exten­sive SAP estate, dig­i­tiz­ing the core and enabling new busi­ness models. 

We are cur­rent­ly two years into our ten-year roadmap. Our first imple­men­ta­tion — Cen­tral Finance — helped us to iden­ti­fy dis­par­i­ties in our data mod­els and process­es. We are now tak­ing those learn­ings into our Asset dig­i­tal core, for our Upstream and Inte­grat­ed gas busi­ness­es. These process­es, data mod­els, and sys­tems will become the cor­ner­stone for all future imple­men­ta­tions across our Down­stream, Renew­ables and Ener­gy Solu­tions, Projects & Tech­nol­o­gy, and Func­tions busi­ness­es. We’re ful­ly embrac­ing clean core con­cepts and SAP Busi­ness Tech­nol­o­gy Plat­form includ­ing Inte­gra­tion suite.
