In Octo­ber 2019, C&J Ener­gy Ser­vices and Keane Group Inc. merged to cre­ate Nex­Ti­er Oil­field Solu­tions Inc. After the merg­er, Nex­Ti­er decid­ed to use SAP S/4HANA as a com­mon plat­form to stan­dard­ize process­es and dri­ve syn­er­gies amount­ing over $120 million.

Accen­ture part­nered with Nex­Ti­er to tran­si­tion to an enter­prise-wide sys­tem using SAP S/4HANA. Togeth­er, they imple­ment­ed the new sys­tem in a record 14 weeks dur­ing ​“Wave 1 Go Live”, apply­ing an agile deliv­ery approach. Dur­ing this time, it moved wire­line, cement, and frac busi­ness to SAP, while set­ting up a super user network.

Tran­si­tion­ing Keane Group’s lega­cy sys­tem to SAP S/4HANA helped Nex­Ti­er work more effec­tive­ly and strategically.

Nex­Ti­er will dis­cuss how it improved and sim­pli­fied its report­ing, work­flow, man­u­al effort, audit and sys­tem con­trols, accounts payable process­es, sup­ply chain effi­cien­cies, and expe­ri­enced a reduc­tion in IT cus­tomiza­tion by using SAP S/4HANA.
