Nat­ur­al gas has become one of the most impor­tant sources of ener­gy in the world, grad­u­al­ly replac­ing coal and oil as it sup­ports the tran­si­tion to a less car­bon- inten­sive lifestyle. Huge invest­ments into this region­al infra­struc­ture are tak­ing place, espe­cial­ly involv­ing LNG plants, ter­mi­nals, and gas pipelines. Nowa­days, to stay com­pet­i­tive in an ever-chang­ing envi­ron­ment, ener­gy com­pa­nies have to adapt their busi­ness process­es and mod­els to cope with new indus­try reg­u­la­tions and tight margins.
