Join us in this first of a three-part spring series featuring ASUG Research and smartShift expertise.

For the past two years, ASUG and smartShift have delved into custom code and clean core, particularly regarding the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. Our extensive research involved surveying over 350 ASUG Members, and complements what smartShift has heard from numerous SIs and hundreds of SAP customers worldwide.

Today, many SAP customers heavily rely on custom code to fulfill various operational needs, from industry-specific requirements to regulatory compliance and reporting. However, as businesses contemplate transitioning to SAP S/4HANA, managing custom code poses a significant challenge. While manual transformation seems like the default choice for many, is it truly the sole path forward?

Join Marissa Gilbert, Research Director at ASUG, and Arndt Hoffmann, CCO at smartShift, in the first segment of our three-part webcast series. In this session, we’ll navigate the intricate path of SAP customers’ migration to SAP S/4HANA, exploring strategies to reconcile the essential role of custom code with the aspiration for a cleaner core in ERP upgrades.

Key Takeaways

  • Where are organizations in their SAP S/4HANA migration journey and what is causing setbacks and headaches on the road to migration.
  • What is the status of organizations’ use of custom code and why do organizations need custom code?
  • How to handle custom code in SAP S/4HANA migration.
