The cost of maintaining assets represents a large portion of the OPEX budget so identifying ways to optimize productivity for the least spend and reduce maintenance costs is a perennial goal for most operations.  This presentation describes how a number of large multinational mining companies independently recently implemented similar approaches to enhance their SAP PM Asset Management data to enable a reduction in maintenance spend.

Mark is a Specialist Leader within Deloitte consulting, with over 20 years experience solving clients challenging problems. In 2013 he wasinvited from Australia to work in the US, Canada, and the Americas more broadly. Since joining Deloitte from Industry Mark has focused on three areas:

• Asset Management: Implementing cost reduction initiatives and decreasing Capital committed to Inventory by improving Supply Chain and Asset Management data quality, and their associated processes
• Operations Excellence –redesign and implementation of the Management Operating Systems or Production Management Systems for both underground and open pit mines both in coal and hard rock.
• Major Capital Projects; Procurement through to Operational Readiness –transitioning from asset design and construction/fabrication through to operations and maintenance. Incorporating Project and Risk Management using Deloitte and Industry standard approaches.
