The cost of main­tain­ing assets rep­re­sents a large por­tion of the OPEX bud­get so iden­ti­fy­ing ways to opti­mize pro­duc­tiv­i­ty for the least spend and reduce main­te­nance costs is a peren­ni­al goal for most oper­a­tions.  This pre­sen­ta­tion describes how a num­ber of large multi­na­tion­al min­ing com­pa­nies inde­pen­dent­ly recent­ly imple­ment­ed sim­i­lar approach­es to enhance their SAP PM Asset Man­age­ment data to enable a reduc­tion in main­te­nance spend.

Mark is a Spe­cial­ist Leader with­in Deloitte con­sult­ing, with over 20 years expe­ri­ence solv­ing clients chal­leng­ing prob­lems. In 2013 he was­in­vit­ed from Aus­tralia to work in the US, Cana­da, and the Amer­i­c­as more broad­ly. • Asset Man­age­ment: Imple­ment­ing cost reduc­tion ini­tia­tives and decreas­ing Cap­i­tal com­mit­ted to Inven­to­ry by improv­ing Sup­ply Chain and Asset Man­age­ment data qual­i­ty, and their asso­ci­at­ed processes
• Oper­a­tions Excel­lence –redesign and imple­men­ta­tion of the Man­age­ment Oper­at­ing Sys­tems or Pro­duc­tion Man­age­ment Sys­tems for both under­ground and open pit mines both in coal and hard rock.
• Major Cap­i­tal Projects; Pro­cure­ment through to Oper­a­tional Readi­ness –tran­si­tion­ing from asset design and construction/​fabrication through to oper­a­tions and main­te­nance. Incor­po­rat­ing Project and Risk Man­age­ment using Deloitte and Indus­try stan­dard approaches.
