Mars’ jour­ney to SAP S/4HANA for cen­tral finance requires the design and devel­op­ment of a sin­gle chart of accounts (CoA). A new sin­gle CoA is a part of the new data mod­el and data har­mo­niza­tion for the SAP S/4HANA for cen­tral finance deploy­ment. Explore the fac­tors of suc­cess and chal­lenges that the Mars team faced dur­ing our project. This ses­sion includes the expla­na­tions for our migra­tion from sev­en CoAs to one, as well as how it fits in with Mars’ dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion and SAP S/4HANA for cen­tral finance journeys. 

The for­mat for Wednes­day, June 10 at 2 p.m. CT will include:

• Rapid case study led by ASUG mem­ber Amy Hilli­er from Mars, Incorporated 

• The dis­cus­sion will focus on: 

• Ground­work in prepa­ra­tion for this project, includ­ing our CoA vision, strat­e­gy, and guid­ing principles 

• Dis­cus­sion on the chal­lenges and key account har­mo­niza­tion watch-out points when deal­ing with mul­ti­ple SAP envi­ron­ments feed­ing into SAP S/4HANA for cen­tral finance 

• Review how we used InfoSteward 

• Shar­ing of recent wins or suc­cess­es, along with resources utilized

• Have a bet­ter GL account-com­pa­ny code lev­el gov­er­nance in place earlier 

• Ded­i­cate a lot of time, patience, and resources to har­mo­niza­tion and stan­dard­iza­tion before cre­at­ing mas­ter data and data replication 

• Can use stan­dard SAP reports and tools to iden­ti­fy data which can be harmonized 

• Pro­vide train­ing on a new CoA – cre­ate a Wiki or Tax­on­o­my to help you staff exe­cute their tasks!
