What is an ASUG Chapter?
The Chapters are regional groups of ASUG members who meet regularly to discuss SAP-related topics, share experiences, and network with other members. These groups provide a valuable opportunity for our members to learn best practices, engage with Chapter colleagues, and hear success stories from their peers. The Chapters also provide a forum for members to share challenges and seek advice from other SAP users who have navigated similar challenges.
Spearheaded by our volunteer leadership, each Chapter offers unique experiences to the local membership. No two Chapter events are the same, and all Chapters provide several opportunities to foster connections with your local SAP community throughout the year.
Chapters provide not only education and networking, but also a lot of fun for members! Topgolf, museums, and sporting events are among the attractions utilized to incorporate social interaction and fun into the Chapters.
The Importance of ASUG Chapters
What really is the importance of ASUG Chapters? It’s to connect ASUG members to other members in their local community, foster collaboration, and provide valuable insights into SAP solutions, partner products, and industry trends. Our events provide a platform for members to engage in Chapter communication through member dialogue to share knowledge, which ultimately helps them to maximize value from their SAP investments.
I had the benefit of attending the ASUG Michigan Chapter event on March 2, 2023, which featured a new session style called Bring It. Checking in at the event, attendees were encouraged to write down a current SAP challenge they were facing.
At the end of the day, ASUG Volunteer Ben Eysselinck pulled these challenges from the box and posed them to the group. Ben asked for those who faced similar challenges to speak up about how they'd resolved them and what had been learned along the way.
The Bring It session fostered connection and problem solving almost instantly, with input coming from many different attendees. This is the beauty of the ASUG Chapters. It’s about learning from others in your local community, making connections, and growing your knowledge along with your network.
Exciting ASUG Chapter Events Ahead to Engage In
The ASUG Chapters have a busy year ahead, with a range of networking events and educational meetings scheduled throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Chapters cover a wide variety of topics, such as SAP S/4HANA, BTP, Signavio, and Sustainability, with each event also offering exceptional and unique networking opportunities. And remember: the importance of ASUG Chapters is to engage with Chapter members to enhance knowledge sharing opportunities and gain information. You may even find a hands-on training CodeJam session at your local Chapter meeting!
