With the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference kicking off next week, and the SAP Conference for Energy and Utilities completing in Rotterdam in April, it’s an excellent time for the North American utilities community to collect content to be shared at the SAP for Utilities, presented by ASUG conference in September.
Between the two events this spring, multiple utilities are sharing excellent presentations. From this content and our year-round webinars, we are pulling insights and knowledge that will help you reduce risk and make key decisions in your organization.
The agenda for SAP for Utilities is shaping up, as we have already received several excellent submissions. As we aim to build the best possible conference, the planning team has extended the submissions deadline to May 30 so that we can capture content and perspectives indicative of the changes currently shaping the SAP ecosystem and the utilities community.
Currently, we have booked sessions focused on vital topics including:
- Learning now WalkMe will be used for all SAP Training replacing SAP Enable Now overtime.
- Learning how the new SAP Business Data Cloud offering (combining both SAP Datasphere and the newest SAP partner, Databricks) can be used to do data integration and replace BW for legacy utilities.
- Leveraging Joule—SAP’s generative AI copilot and new agentic AI capabilities empowered by 27 different large language models (LLMs)
- How SAP Cloud ERP, Private (Package) aka RISE with SAP for utilities is being leveraged by different utility companies to implement SAP S/4HANA and jumpstart their private cloud ERP journeys
- Understanding how innovation paths supported by SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) not only replace PI/PO, but also create a new platform for utilities, partners, and SAP to build innovation at the edge, enable clean core, and allow for faster and easier upgrades
- Examining how our colleagues are leveraging vital customer solutions including SAP Customer Experience 2.0, SAP Emarsys, and Customer Management cloud components CDC and CDP.
We are all on these shared utility journeys together and should support each other by coming together to communicate our common requirements and our expectations. To that end, SAP continues to support change in our solutions through its Customer Influence and Adoption opportunities. Our community continues to collaborate on S/4 and we need your votes today. Only one person per utility organization is needs to cast a vote, but they need to be granted access by your local security team, please review and vote for the items below that you’d like to see in the next release:
- Compatible Units & Estimation Support for customer requested service work
- Applications for electrical interconnection supported in New Service with Advanced Execution
- New Service with Advanced Execution
- Appointment processing
- Quotation & Tariff Rate Support for Customer requested work
We have an influence proposal for Service Request as replacement of Service Notification (CS Notification) that was accepted by SAP. Follow here to see which release it will be included in.
Many thanks to all of you that are leading and sharing your success with the community. I am looking forward to seeing you all at SAP for Utilities in the Denver or on a future webinar. In the meantime, enjoy SAP Sapphire and ASUG Annual Conference. We’ll be covering some of the utilities-specific announcements coming form that event in this newsletter.
One more event that should be on your radar is the Enterprise Architecture series here. Enterprise Architecture is all about managing and planning for complex change, so there is no better time to network with other SAP Enterprise architects.
Thank you again and see you soon.
