With SAP for Util­i­ties, Pre­sent­ed by ASUG a few short weeks away after months of plan­ning and prepa­ra­tion, the ASUG team is thrilled about all that’s ahead in Mia­mi for our util­i­ties community.

We’re par­tic­u­lar­ly excit­ed about this year’s line­up of suc­cess sto­ries, work­shops, learn­ing labs, and roadmap ses­sions, cre­at­ed in col­lab­o­ra­tion with an advi­so­ry com­mit­tee of your fel­low SAP customers. 

In last month’s edi­tion, Marc Rosson, Enter­prise Archi­tect at Sno­homish PUD and one of the mem­bers of that com­mit­tee, told you what he’s look­ing for­ward to at the con­fer­ence. In that spir­it, let’s high­light what I find most excit­ing about this year’s SAP for Util­i­ties, Pre­sent­ed by ASUG. 

Through Com­mu­ni­ty Pow­er Up ses­sions, atten­dees will have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to con­nect with peers from spe­cif­ic util­i­ty areas; there will be ses­sions for ener­gy and water util­i­ties, for enter­prise archi­tects, and for Cana­di­an util­i­ties. Fos­ter­ing indus­try con­nec­tions starts with these ses­sions, which will also dive deep into atten­dees’ spe­cif­ic busi­ness chal­lenges and opportunities. 

Anoth­er can’t‑miss ses­sion, ​“The Future is Now: Util­i­ty Ener­gy Trans­for­ma­tion and SAP’s Asset & Work Man­age­ment Plat­form,” will explore the future of ener­gy trans­for­ma­tion for util­i­ties, offer­ing insights into how enter­pris­es can lever­age cut­ting-edge tech­nolo­gies to gain a com­pet­i­tive advan­tage. Expect in-depth dis­cus­sion of data ana­lyt­ics, the indus­tri­al inter­net of things (IIoT), mobile solu­tions, and — of course — arti­fi­cial intelligence. 

The con­fer­ence will also fea­ture a slate of Learn­ing Lab ses­sions focused on how util­i­ties can use SAP solu­tions to imple­ment orga­ni­za­tion­al change. One ses­sion will focus on how atten­dees can use SAP Sig­navio and SAP LeanIX to cre­ate a strong foun­da­tion for wider enter­prise process trans­for­ma­tion. Anoth­er will show atten­dees the wide vari­ety of SAP sup­port options avail­able to all cus­tomers with­in their exist­ing SAP investments. 

Addi­tion­al­ly, a util­i­ty-spe­cif­ic roadmap ses­sion will give atten­dees a sneak peek at the future of SAP solu­tion devel­op­ment and equip cus­tomers with the knowl­edge they need to har­ness SAP tools and meet the most crit­i­cal chal­lenges that face this evolv­ing indus­try, from evolv­ing reg­u­la­to­ry com­pli­ance stan­dards to elec­tri­fi­ca­tion and the clean-ener­gy revolution.
