Enter­pris­es often begin their IoT jour­ney with mod­er­ate­ly-large IoT sys­tems, but plan­ning to grow these sys­tems to tremen­dous sizes, larg­er than we are used to deal­ing with – Petabytes or even Exabytes of data, when we have just got com­fort­able deal­ing with Ter­abytes. IoT sen­sors are inher­ent­ly dis­trib­uted – so is IoT data, and for eco­nom­ic rea­sons, it will have to stay that way. For full-scale IoT sys­tems, most of the IoT data will nev­er move to the core – the cloud or the enter­prise dat­a­cen­ter – but instead will stay for­ev­er at the edge, close to where it was cre­at­ed. This means that com­pa­nies will need to learn how to man­age very large dis­trib­uted datasets. For­tu­nate­ly, SAP has data man­age­ment solu­tions that address this require­ment. This talk will explain how very large dis­trib­uted IoT datasets can be man­aged using SAP HANA, HANA Vora, Smart Data Stream­ing, SQL Any­where and Dynam­ic Edge Processing.
