Enterprises often begin their IoT journey with moderately-large IoT systems, but planning to grow these systems to tremendous sizes, larger than we are used to dealing with – Petabytes or even Exabytes of data, when we have just got comfortable dealing with Terabytes. IoT sensors are inherently distributed – so is IoT data, and for economic reasons, it will have to stay that way. For full-scale IoT systems, most of the IoT data will never move to the core – the cloud or the enterprise datacenter – but instead will stay forever at the edge, close to where it was created. This means that companies will need to learn how to manage very large distributed datasets. Fortunately, SAP has data management solutions that address this requirement. This talk will explain how very large distributed IoT datasets can be managed using SAP HANA, HANA Vora, Smart Data Streaming, SQL Anywhere and Dynamic Edge Processing.
