The Freeport-McMoRan Dig­i­tal Work­force is more than an appli­ca­tion or dig­i­tal form — it’s a holis­tic approach to dig­i­tal­ly empow­er our work­force. By tak­ing a user-cen­tric approach and uti­liz­ing cloud-based tech­nolo­gies, mobile plat­forms, and col­lab­o­ra­tion tools, we were able to deliv­er val­ue to the busi­ness through dig­i­tal cap­ture, main­te­nance, and self-ser­vice. Dig­i­tal data prep has led to more accu­rate main­te­nance plans, improv­ing Plant Main­te­nance (PM) qual­i­ty. In addi­tion, equip­ment avail­abil­i­ty has improved due to high­er PM compliance/​visibility and less unnec­es­sary out­ages and downtime.

Key learn­ings:

• Improved com­mu­ni­ca­tion between plan­ners, super­vi­sors, and technicians
• Tech­ni­cians have access to bet­ter infor­ma­tion in the field, made avail­able via SAP Asset Manager
• Enhanced account­abil­i­ty and track­ing of work execution
