Franz Hero is respon­si­ble for the Sup­ply Chain and Logis­tics devel­op­ment at SAP. This area spans a large port­fo­lio of solu­tions for sup­ply chain plan­ning, sup­ply chain exe­cu­tion and sup­ply chain net­works. The unit is spread across all con­ti­nents, in many loca­tions. Franz job is to lead the unit — defin­ing and cas­cad­ing the strat­e­gy, ensur­ing align­ment and col­lab­o­ra­tion with all key stake­hold­ers, and dri­ving on time, in-scope, and qual­i­ty deliv­ery of the dif­fer­ent prod­ucts. Fur­ther­more, a key area of his respon­si­bil­i­ty is the close work with cus­tomers for deal sup­port or co-inno­va­tion projects with development.

Franz start­ed at SAP in 1990 and his career spans man­age­ment posi­tions in devel­op­ment, con­sult­ing and solu­tion man­age­ment. He has been respon­si­ble for numer­ous indus­try and solu­tion areas, includ­ing the aero­space and defense, high tech and chem­i­cals indus­tries, as well as solu­tions for project man­age­ment, con­trol­ling and finan­cials, sup­ply chain exe­cu­tion, and now sup­ply chain management.

As part of his man­age­ment posi­tions, Franz trans­ferred to work for sev­er­al years in the Sil­i­con Val­ley (USA) as well as in Shang­hai (Chi­na).

Since the end of 2015, he is based again at SAP head­quar­ters in Germany.

Franz Hero holds a mas­ter degree in Physics from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Saar­brück­en, Germany.
