Sus­tain­abil­i­ty and envi­ron­men­tal, social, and gov­er­nance (ESG) report­ing are hot top­ics in busi­ness today. SAP believes that ESG report­ing is nec­es­sary but not suf­fi­cient to address glob­al warm­ing. Cor­po­ra­tions must do more to have direct, mate­r­i­al effects on sus­tain­abil­i­ty. In this pre­sen­ta­tion, we’ll explore two areas where sup­ply chain pro­fes­sion­als can have an out­sized impact. Pro­cure­ment pro­fes­sion­als can con­sid­er the Scope 3 car­bon emis­sions of parts and prod­ucts, along with the tra­di­tion­al con­sid­er­a­tions of price, deliv­ery, and qual­i­ty. We’ll show how to bring all of these ele­ments togeth­er to run sce­nar­ios that con­sid­er trade offs in the con­text of pro­cure­ment and sup­ply chain man­age­ment.
