Think Tank Insights:

  • There are similarities in how companies are handling the impact on IT and supporting the business operations, but some tactics depend on whether the company was deemed essential or non-essential.

  • Essential businesses like Butler Supply and Mrs. T’s Pierogies have been facing technology and parts supply chain issues, with products being unavailable or quarantined.

  • Employees are needing to learn how to work differently and shift priorities quickly, although remote live S/4 implementations are possible with communication. IT professionals have shifted from implementation to optimization, from ongoing projects to business continuity.

  • Moving forward, businesses will face challenges in financial and manufacturing planning, as businesses will need to determine what demand is COVID-19 related. How do businesses keep momentum gained during the pandemic?
